Cisco has warned of an active zero-day vulnerability in its router software package which is remaining exploited in the wild and could make it possible for a remote, authenticated attacker to carry out memory exhaustion assaults on an influenced system.
“An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by sending crafted IGMP targeted traffic to an impacted device,” Cisco explained in an advisory posted over the weekend.
